Restorative Dentistry and Replacement Teeth
Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays
Revitalizing Oral Integrity with Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays
Damaged or severely worn teeth can be uncomfortable and unsightly.
Drs. Kidwell and Albus are skilled restorative dentists
who apply crowns, inlays, and onlays to renew smiles
and strengthen compromised dentition.
A crown sits atop a tooth to restore structural
integrity and protect it from further damage. Our dentists
use all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, and gold crowns.
They'll consider tooth location and stressors to determine which
material to use. Ceramic crowns look and feel like
natural teeth, so they'll blend seamlessly into your existing smile.
Expect three visits to design and place custom crowns.
Your dentist will prepare your tooth for restoration,
take a dental impression, and fit you with a temporary. A skilled
ceramist at a trusted lab will hand make your crown in
a shade to match your natural tooth color. When your dental work is
completed, your dentist will remove the temporary and
permanently affix your crown to renew your smile and
rekindle your self-esteem.
Dr. Kidwell or Dr. Albus may suggest an inlay or
onlay if your tooth's damage doesn't require a full crown
but needs more restoration than a filling can provide. Inlays fit
between the cusps, or bumps, of a tooth. Onlays fit over one or more
bumps. Like crowns, inlays and onlays are custom
restorations handcrafted in a dental lab.
